Terms & Policies
This canvas describes the Terms & Policies of ideis.world. They aim to encourage respectful and responsible use, clarify that content is public, emphasize privacy, and explain the platform’s limits and good-faith principles. What is your view? Are these terms fair and clear?

These terms describe how ideis.world is made available and how it may be used. By accessing or using the platform, you accept the conditions applicable depending on how you use it.

Using the Platform (Visitors & Readers)

Public Content

All content published on ideis.world is public and accessible without registration. You may read, quote, link to, and share publicly available content, provided that clear attribution to the original content and its source on ideis.world is given.

No Reliance

Content published on the platform represents the views and reasoning of individual users.

It is provided for discussion and exploration purposes only and does not constitute professional, legal, medical, financial, or other advice. The platform does not review content for correctness, completeness, or reliability. You use such content at your own discretion and risk.

No Guarantees

The platform is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. No guarantees are made regarding:

  • the accuracy or completeness of content,

  • the availability or performance of the service (see also section "4 Service Availability and Continuity"),

  • the preservation of published material.

For Human Use Only

Content on ideis.world is created by humans, for humans. Search engine indexing and services that direct users to content on the platform are welcome. However, automated scraping or harvesting of platform content — whether for the purpose of training machine learning models, building datasets, or any other form of content extraction — constitutes a violation of these terms and of the applicable content license. The platform operator and content authors each reserve the right to seek remedies under the governing law of this platform. The creation of automated or bot-operated user accounts is prohibited.

Registering and Publishing (Contributors)

Eligibility

Registration on ideis.world is limited to individuals who are at least 16 years old. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If the law applicable to you requires a higher minimum age to use such a service, that higher age applies.

Your Commitments

By registering and publishing on ideis.world, you agree that:

  • All content you publish is public (see also section "2.3 Your Content and Rights").

  • You will not publish private personal data — your own or anyone else's.

  • You will engage respectfully, honestly, and constructively.

  • You will not publish hateful, discriminatory, illegal, or age-restricted content.

  • You accept the use of one essential encrypted cookie to maintain your authenticated session. This cookie cannot be used for tracking or identification outside the platform.

While AI usage is acceptable as a support tool, content must be predominantly your own original work. Non-human or automatically generated content and opinions are not acceptable.

The platform reserves the right, acting in good faith, to determine whether content or behavior violates these terms and may remove content or accounts without prior notice.

Your Content and Rights

You retain authorship of your original content. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, user-generated content on ideis.world is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution–ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license — the same license used by Wikipedia. This means content may be freely shared and adapted, provided that attribution is given and derivative works are distributed under the same license.

Published canvases, and opinions form part of the platform's public record and must not contain private personal data. Control over published content is exercised through the account that created it. The platform does not verify real-world identity and cannot adjudicate disputes over who first conceived an idea.

You may close your account at any time. Upon closure:

  • Content that has been referenced or commented by others will be retained. The original public identifier (which includes your username) will remain for URL stability, but your account profile will no longer be accessible.

  • Content not referenced by others will be deleted.

The platform is designed to minimize personal data. It processes only what is necessary for authentication, basic settings, and public contributions. No additional user profiles, tracking data, or behavioral analytics are maintained.

You may:

  • Review and correct your settings directly through the platform.

  • Export all your non-public data when logged in at any time.

  • Close your account through the account settings.

Intellectual Property Claims

If you believe content on the platform infringes your rights, contact us with:

  • Identification of the specific content

  • Evidence of your ownership or authorization

  • A clear statement as to why you believe the use is unauthorized

Claims will be reviewed under Swiss law. The platform is not obligated to comply with foreign legal procedures.

Our Commitments

The platform is designed according to the following principles:

  • Privacy: No tracking, no analytics, no advertising, no data selling.

  • Minimal data: Only what is strictly necessary for authentication and basic preferences (randomly generated username, password hash, general settings, published content).

  • Security: HTTPS everywhere; user content is technically sanitized.

  • Good faith: Genuine inquiries are answered on a best-effort basis.

These are design principles, not legal guarantees.

Service Availability and Continuity

ideis.world is an experimental, non-commercial project operated by a private individual.

The platform may be modified, suspended, or permanently discontinued at any time, with or without notice. There is no guarantee of uptime, continuity of service, or long-term preservation of content. Users are responsible for keeping their own copies of any material they wish to retain.

Liability

Limitation

To the extent permitted by law, the platform is not liable for:

  • content published by users,

  • service interruptions or termination,

  • loss of data or content

In particular, the platform has no obligation to monitor, review, or pre-approve user-generated content.

Indemnification

You are responsible for any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Content you publish

  • Your violation of these terms

  • Your violation of any third-party rights

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated. Significant changes will require acceptance upon next login. If you do not accept updated terms, your account may be suspended until acceptance.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

As this platform is operated from Switzerland, these terms are governed by Swiss law, in particular the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively by the competent courts of Geneva, Switzerland, to the extent permitted by law.

The platform is not specifically directed at users in any other jurisdiction. Users accessing the platform from other jurisdictions do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with their local laws.

The platform will only disclose user information when required to do so by Swiss authorities under Swiss law.
